Although each subscription plan comes with a set number of bags (“monthly allocation”), you can submit as many extra bags as you would like. Extra bags are defined as any laundry that does not fit in the Magic Basket bag but you would like to have washed.
Every additional bag will be weighed to get total pounds. Every 30 lbs will be considered as one full bag. If you have remaining monthly allocations, your allocations will be reduced by the number of full bags first before any additional charges are applied.
If you don’t have any remaining monthly allocations, you will be charged as follows:
- Every 30 lbs will be charged at your per-bag subscription price for that service cycle; or
- If the total weight is less than 30 lbs, you will be charged the lessor of:
- The applicable per-pound rate based on actual recorded weight of the laundry; or
- The per-bag subscription price for that service cycle
For example, if you are a 2 bag per month Magic Basket subscriber, your plan’s per-bag price is $72/bag. If the total weight of your extra bags is 55 lbs, we will first divide 55 lbs by 30 to get the total number of full 30 lbs bags.
55 lbs / 30 lbs = One full 30 lbs bag and one 25 lbs bag.
For the full 30 lbs bag, you will be charged $72.
For the 25 lbs bag, we will first calculate the total cost using the per-pound price and compare it to your plan’s per-bag pricing.
25 lbs x $2.99/lb = $74.75
Since the per-pound price is greater than your plan’s per-bag pricing, you will be charged the lessor of the two amounts which would be $72.
Laundry weight will be determined by Magic Basket at the time of processing using commercially reasonable weighing methods, and such recorded weight shall be final for billing purposes.
