Prohibited Fabrics & Specialty Materials
These materials require specialized chemical treatments or hand-processing that fall outside our standard wash-and-fold workflow.
- Leather & Suede: Including jackets, skirts, and trim.
- Fur & Faux Fur: Including animal pelts, shearling, and synthetic fur accents.
- Feathers: Including down jackets, pillows, and garments with feather trim.
- Specialty Gowns: Wedding dresses, vintage heirlooms, and intricate costumes.
- Delicate Embellishments: Items with heavy sequins, beading, or glued-on ornaments that may detach during machine agitation.
Non-Clothing Household Items
Our facility is optimized for personal apparel and standard linens. We cannot accept large or structured household goods, including:
- Floor Coverings: Area rugs, bath mats with rubber backing, and door mats.
- Structured Accessories: Shoes, hats, helmets, purses, and backpacks.
- Heavy Bedding: Weighted blankets, sleeping bags, and large decorative pillows.
- Pet Items: Dog beds, pet blankets with excessive hair, and animal toys.
Health & Safety (Biohazards)
For the protection of our staff and to maintain a sanitary environment for all customers, we strictly refuse items contaminated with the following:
- Bodily Fluids: Garments heavily soiled with blood, feces, urine, or vomit.
- Infestations: Items showing signs of bedbugs, lice, or other pests.
- Environmental Hazards: Items contaminated with mold, mildew, or poison ivy/oak oils.
- Hazardous Chemicals: Clothing soaked in gasoline, motor oil, or combustible cleaning solvents.
- Dampness: We cannot accept bags containing wet or damp clothes, as these pose a high risk for mildew growth during transit.
